A 42yr old serial entrepreneur, weight training junkie, motivational speaker, dog mum, bio-hacking expert and proud South African. My personal mission is to age with strength & grace and I want to help women like you, do the same.

My journey to the Anneli you see today, at 42, was definitely not easy, but it helped me become the coach I am and gave me a deep understanding of what lasting change really takes!
My Story...
Arriving solo in London in my twenties was tougher than I expected. Within a year, I'd gained significant weight, lost my confidence, developed unhealthy binge-drinking habits, and found myself in a draining, male-dominated sales job. My coping mechanisms were toxic, and I felt stuck.


Eventually, I hit a wall.
My point of 'no more'. I slowly started making better choices around food & began moving my body more. This marked my first real dive into yo-yo dieting. I lost weight, but fell into the trap of excessive cardio (which I hated) and restricting calories. By 27, I'd shed the weight but lost most of my muscle mass. At 5'11", I looked 'skinny-fat' and permanently felt exhausted.
Weight training changed my life.
It took meeting my ex-IronMan husband Wayne, to convince me to swap cardio for strength training. The penny finally dropped: I DIDN’T WANT TO BE SKINNY; I wanted to be toned, strong, and fit – and weight training was the key.
By 29, my body shape had transformed, and so had my relationship with food. I was eating more than ever to fuel my body and build muscle. Unexpectedly, my mindset underwent a massive shift too. I felt more mentally & physically resilient, cultivated a growth mindset, and gained the confidence to leave my advertising job
Burning out in my 30s taught me...
Self-compassion. I was pushing hard, building two businesses simultaneously. While rewarding and great for my bank account, I eventually burnt out just before Covid (something I still struggle to admit!). This forced me to re-evaluate, find my limits, and ultimately shaped me into the coach I am today - using my own journey to empower amazing women like you!
Turning 40 ignited something...
Standing on a yacht in Ibiza, eyes closed, soaking up every last drop of the sun setting on my 40th birthday, my soul whispered to me: "THIS IS IT. THIS IS YOUR TIME TO SHINE." So I opened my eyes, and decided to do just that! Midlife sparked a tidal wave of self-discovery within me. I began listening more intently to my heart & gut, started prioritising ME more and learnt to take better care of my mind, body, and soul. Now at 42, I've taken two decades of self-experimentation, honed my skills as a coach and integrated it all into Mind and Muscle Beyond 40.

I believe every woman deserves the success of transforming her relationship with her body and mind, unlocking new levels of strength, energy, and the confidence to age powerfully.

about me

I'm a dog mum to a sassy nearly 3yr old Mini-Schnauzer, Diesel. He runs my life...no jokes!

My happy place is paddleboarding at sunrise. We live in Horsham, West Sussex so Brighton is where you'll usually find me SUP'ing.
